Off-piste skiing in Chamonix and Zermatt is an opportunity to access high mountain and ski on spectacular glaciers

i

The Chamonix Valley, at the foot of Mont Blanc, offers many opportunities for off-piste skiing and ski touring along magnificent routes on spectacular glaciers.

The Aiguille du Midi and Grands Montets cable cars take us directly up to high mountain terrain.

The ski slopes are also remarkable with often more than 2000 m, and up to 2800 m, descents from the Aiguille du Midi.

i

It is not by chance that Chamonix is considered the "mecca" of off-piste skiing in France and its reputation is not surpassed.

The choice of date for this trip, April, is not a coincidence either. Indeed, the reputation of this ski area for off-piste skiing attracts many skiers from around the world. But this period is the least frequented during the season, thus increasing our chances of finding virgin snow and less crowded runs.

In addition, it is the period when it’s possible to find some of the best snow during the season.

Other off-piste skiing programme that might interest you

The rest of the week will take place at the foot of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn, whose characteristic silhouette is the dream of many mountaineers. Zermatt is not only the culmination of the "Haute Route" and a huge ski area with more than 360 runs, but also a dream region for off-piste skiing, ski touring and heliskiing.

i

We promise you some spectacular descents on the glaciers in the middle of seracs and crevasses, which will be followed by more peaceful tours on large open slopes surrounded by magnificent panoramas.

Snow conditions are generally excellent and the high-altitude glaciers provide good snow until the end of the season. The Matterhorn summer ski area is the largest in Europe, and many national teams train there.

i

If you wish, it is possible to add to the program one or two helicopter drops on unforgettable peaks like Monte Rosa.
