The highlights : Ascent of Mera Peak, a peak of 6476 meters in Nepal.

                            Exceptional hiking on unknown paths of Solu-Khumbu region and Hinku the valley. We will have the opportunity to cross several villages sherpas

                            and have a real contact with the people before arriving in high mountain area.

                            The trek of Mount Mera offers a unique view of five mountains 8000 meters of the planet and one of the highest regions of the world.

                            A great adventure for those who wish to live a Himalayan expedition without great technical difficulty.

                            Discover the Sherpa culture, as well as some other ethnic Nepalese.

                            The 4 major sites in the Kathmandu valley: the holy city of Pashupatinath, the giant stupa Boudhanath, the Monkey Temple of Swayambhunath

                            and the former Bakhtapur capital. Without forgetting Kathmandu itself!


Programme : Day 1 (Sat) Flight to Kathmandu.

  1. Day 2 (Sun 09/10) Arrival in Kathmandu. Installation at the hotel Yak & Yeti. Free time and dinner together, presenting the scoreboard and formalities

  2.            for trekking.

  3. Day 3 (Mon) Kathmandu - Paphlu (2500 m). Flight (subject to weather conditions) from Kathmandu to Phaphlu (40 minute flight). Upon landing, 

  4.            organization expenses with porters and Sherpas. Start trekking in stride. Long stage to join the Thaksindo La (2960 m). Cervical, beautiful view

  5.            of the Khumbu and summits Numbur. At lodge. 6 h 30 walk.

  6. Day 4 (Tue) Thaksindo (2800 m) - Khari Khola. Long descent to the basin of the Dudh Kosi and climb on the opposite shore to the village of Khari 

  7.            Kola. At lodge. 7 h 30 walk.

  8. Day 5 (Wed) Khari Khola - Pangom (2850m) Crossing the Poyan Khola before ascending to Khari La (3081 m), then passes through a

  9.            succession of troughs dominating the Khari Khola. Many villages: Kharte, Nyrungso before joining Pangkongma. At lodge. 5 hours of walking.

  10. Day 6 (Thu) Pangom - Ning So (2850m) Step absolutely superb. Ascent Nankung La (3110 m), beautiful view of the Mera Peak. Then fast 

  11.            descent to Sibuje (2770 m). Trail rollercoaster away nice camp Ning So. At lodge. 4 hours of walking.

  12. Day 7 (Fri) Ning So - Jungle camp (3160 m) Steep climb up a tea shop in the immense view (3280 m). We still rises a little (3350 m) and steep 

  13.           descent to the lunch break near a river (2850m). Russian mountains continue in the forest with a steep passage on many markets. Arrive at 

  14.           Jungle Camp after crossing a river on a large trunk. At lodge. 6 h 30 walk.

  15. Day 8 (Sat) Jungle Camp - Kote (3600 m) We continue to climb steep slopes up to 3700 meters and then again roller coaster lead to the junction 

  16.            with the route of the La Zatswa. road continues to reach Kote (Mounsom Kharka) at the junction of two valleys descending Mera, about 3600 

  17.            meters. The village is beautiful with a few lodges and grocery stores. At lodge. 4 hours of walking.

  18. Day 9 (Sun) Kote - Tangnag (4260 m) Following the west bank of the Hinku Drangka north, we cross the summer pastures of Gondishung (small 

  19.            gompa) Dupishung and Lungsamba. The valley becomes narrower, squeezed between the Kanguru (6369 m) and Mera West (6255 m). Tangnag 

  20.            (in Tibetan, "the black plain") is a great place for the night. At lodge. 6 hours of walking.

  21. Day 10 (Mon) Tangnag. Acclimatization around Tangnag. To perfect his fitness ... opportunity to climb the Tangnag Ri (5000 m). At lodge. 4 hours 

  22.              of walking.

  23. Day 11 (Tue) Tangnag - Khare (4900 m) The climb again along the lateral moraine of Dig Glacier. Camp Khare, just before the glacier leading to 

  24.              the Mera La. The camp is located at 4900 meters, and we are now well acclimatized. At lodge. 3 hours of walking.

  25. Day 12 (Wed) Khare - Mera La (5415 m) - high camp (5800 m) This morning, take the foot of the glacier can be a little tricky. Long climb on the 

  26.              little steep glacier to reach the location of high camp. The view from the camp presents a festival of "7000" and "8000" meters: Kanchenjunga, 

  27.              Chamlang, Makalu, Baruntse, Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu ... This panorama is considered one of the most beautiful of Nepal. Overnight in tents.

  28.              6 hours of walking.

  29. Day 13 (Thu) Mera Peak (6461 m) - descent Khare very early start for the ascent of the central summit via the north slope. Long climb on a

  30.              glacial plateau without much technical difficulty. It's a bit cracked glacier. The last meters have more slope, around 35 to 40 degrees. Back to      

  31.              Khare. At lodge. 10 hours of walking.

  32. Day 14 (Fri) Reserve day for the ascent in case of bad weather.

  33. Day 15 (Sat) Khare - Kote (3600 m) We follow the path taken to the rise. At lodge. 6 hours of walking.

  34. Day 16 (Sun) Kote - Chetrawa La (4610 m) We forsake the course of the river to climb up to the last pass. At lodge. 5 hours of walking.

  35. Day 17 (Mon) The Chetrawa - Lukla. Last step to reach Lukla. At lodge Yeti Mountain Home. 6 hours of walking.

  36. Day 18 (Tue) Lukla - Kathmandu. Flight subject to the vagaries of the weather. Transfer to hotel in Kathmandu and free afternoon. Visit the 

  37.              shopping districts of Kathmandu and Durbar Square.

  38. Day 19 (Wed) Kathmandu. Free day. Your trekking guide will be available to organize these few hours in the Kathmandu Valley. For those of you 

  39.              wishing to visit the city accompanied by a cultural guide, your trekking guide will arrange. Last meal in Kathmandu taken together with your 

  40.              guide.

  41. Day 20 (Thu) Transfer to the airport and flight to Kathmandu your return destination.

  42. Day 21 (Fri) Arrive at your final destination for flights to Europe.


Best time of year : End of September after the rainy season until the end of November.

Note : For those who are worried about the ascent of Mera Peak, because of the high altitude, it will be possible to participate in this very beautiful trek of great

           interest without undertaking the ascent of the summit. In this case a walk will be organized for those who choose this option until the return of the rest of the 



Levels : Fitness - you need to be very fit.

               Technical ability - this is a tour that is achievable by all as long as you have been training for it - 5 to 7  hours steady/gentle walking per day with a vertical

               ascent of 1000m.

               The two most important things to help you avoid the undesirable effects of altitude and give you the maximum  chance of reaching the summit are:

               - walking at a very slow pace, even exaggeratedly slow so that you never get tired.

               - Drinking lots of fluids even if you do not feel thirsty.


Number of participants :  4 to 12 people. 


Guides : A French guide accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, 2 assistant guides, a cooking team and porters.


Accommodation : In Katmandu we stay in a comfortable hotel in double room.. Yak & Yeti hotel 5*

                               During the trek we stay in lodges and tents for the base camp to the summit.


Formalities : You need a passport that is valid for more than 6 months + Visa for Nepal


Equipment to be carried : All the climbs can be completed with a day pack.

                                            Travel bags are transported by vehicles or porters.


Local transport : Minibuses used for all transfers during the trip. Domestic flights.

PRICE : Depending of the number of people / € 4680 per person for a group of 4 people.

             + Flight from your departure place to Katmandu.

             + Extra for single rooms for nights in hotel or lodges during the trip.

             Domestic flights from Katmandu to Paphlu and back from Lukla to Katmandu are included in the price

             At the time we planned this trip, tickets flights from Paris to Katmandu cost approximately € 750.

A memorable  trek in Nepalese Sherpa country to undertake to do the ascent of Mera Peak at 6461 m


The ascent of Mera is a unique opportunity to climb a famous peak of more than 6000 meters in the heart of the largest mountains of Nepal.


From the top of the summit of Mera Peak, five of the fourteen 8000m mountains are revealed to us, including Everest, Makalu and Cho Oyu.


This expedition on Mount Mera is first and foremost a great hiking in Sherpa country, through the rhythm of not many villages of the Solu-Khumbu region toward the Hinku valley, quietly leading us towards Kote via the Pass Pangom.


From this point, we will be beyond 4000 meters in full alpine vegetation, whose magnificent rhododendrons, only crossing some villages and mountain pastures.

A long deep valley will take us to Khare, near where we will establish base camp. The technique known ascent will begin and leave us 3 days to climb the summit of Mera Peak coveted.


The return is via the Chetawa La Pass at 4610 m to return to Lukla and celebrate our adventure.


This trip also explores several mythical places of the Kathmandu valley, rich in history and religious symbols.
